Bridal Hair & Makeup

Wedding hair and makeup built around a trial that actually happens, not a rushed conversation on the morning. We plan the ceremony timeline with you, test the look in daylight so the photos hold up, and pack a touch-up kit that goes home with you. Most brides book six to twelve months out, and we cap the diary at two weddings a weekend.

Overview

A bridal appointment that plans for the day, not just the photo

The look on the trial day is not the full job. We build a plan for the actual ceremony: how long you will be sitting, whether you are travelling between venues, what the weather is likely to do, and which parts of the look need to survive a hug from your grandmother. Hair is set with a base that holds through humidity, and makeup is layered so it stays matte without going flat in flash photography. Every bride leaves the trial with a written timeline and a touch-up kit tested on the day we meet.

Photography-tested finishes, not guesses

Our lead bridal artist trained in editorial makeup and spent six seasons working with wedding photographers across Victoria, which is where she learned that a look that reads beautifully at the mirror can go chalky under a flash. Every finish we build is photographed on the trial day under studio strobe and outdoor light, and adjusted until it holds. We also plan around the dress neckline, because a chignon that photographs well with a strapless gown does not always suit a high collar.

  • Trial looks photographed under strobe and daylight before sign-off
  • Humidity-tested hair set with a base that holds through a marquee reception
  • Separate touch-up kit packed and walked through with you

The trial was the moment I stopped worrying. They photographed the finished look in both lights, adjusted the eyeliner, and gave me a little card with what was in the kit. On the day I was ready twenty minutes early.

Our Process

From first email to the morning of

The booking runs across several months but the studio time is set out clearly. Here is the sequence we follow.

01

Enquiry and date hold

You send the date, venue, and rough party size. We check the diary, hold the date for 48 hours, and send through the deposit link so nothing moves while you decide.

02

Trial booking

We book a ninety-minute trial roughly ten to twelve weeks before the wedding, once the dress and venue are locked so we are styling for both the look and the space.

03

Trial and adjustments

Two or three hair concepts and one makeup look are built on the day, photographed in studio strobe and daylight, and refined until you are happy with what the camera sees.

04

Timeline and kit plan

You leave the trial with a written run sheet covering arrival time, styling order for the party, and a touch-up kit we build and walk through with you before you go.

05

Confirm and lock

Final balance is due two weeks out. We confirm the address, parking, and the spot in the room where the light is best, so nothing is decided in the car on the morning.

06

Ceremony morning

The artist arrives early, sets up before the first person sits down, and keeps to the timeline with a five-minute buffer between each face so nobody is rushed before the ceremony.

FAQ

Bridal questions before you book

The things brides ask most often when they ring the studio. If your question is more specific, we are happy to talk on the phone.

Ten to twelve weeks before the wedding, once your dress and venue are locked. That is late enough that the dress silhouette is final and early enough that there is still room for a second trial if we need one.

Yes, within greater Melbourne as part of every package. Travel beyond 25 kilometres from Cremorne is quoted separately, and overnight bookings outside the metro area are possible if the wedding is early.

Yes. We plan for it at the trial, and for parties above four people we bring a second artist. Curly hair gets a separate prep block so the set has time to set properly, and we ask everyone what their hair usually does before the morning.

Blotting papers, a pressed powder matched to your base, the lip colour you wore, a small hair pin tin, and a folded card with the exact products used. It is packed for you on the trial day and walked through so on the morning you know what to reach for.

The deposit holds the date but is transferable once to a new date within twelve months, as long as you tell us more than thirty days out. Cancellations inside thirty days keep the deposit, which covers the lost slot we have turned other brides away from.
